Shark Fishing Trips with Lo Kie Adventures
We operate a strict catch and release policy for shark fishing
Sharking Trips in Cornwall
The rich waters off West Cornwall are prolific shark fishing grounds. We steam offshore to fish these grounds and with deep water close to the coast we are often fishing within an hour of leaving port. We mainly catch Blue Sharks with the occasional Porbeagle Shark. We always live in hope that one day a Thresher Shark or Mako Shark also turns up!
Blue Sharks have increased in numbers in our waters over the last 10 years and in the height of season we can often catch more than 50 fish in a day!! Blue Sharks between 20-100lb are commonly caught on our trips, with many 100-150lb fish seen throughout the season too. A 150lb fish is a real specimen and these magnificent fish have even caught to over 250lb off West Cornwall!
We use 20-30lb class gear paired with braided lines to offer the best sport and arm-wrenching action! Top quality terminal tackle and rig components are used so that you can have complete confidence when playing a shark.

Catch and Release Shark Fishing
Lo Kie Adventures operates a strict shark catch and release policy and from the 2021 season we are releasing all fish at the side of the boat. We use barbless circle hooks to ensure clean lip or jaw hook-ups which makes the unhooking process quick and easy and causes minimal harm to the sharks. We release all sharks in the water beside the boat to minimise stress and ensure release in top condition. We love nothing better than to see these stunning fish power off back to the depths! We want to support a healthy fishery for all of us to enjoy for many years to come.
All sharks below were caught prior to 2021 and safely returned to the water following our strict catch and release policy.
